Mike and Cari, since 2014
Wine Hardware was founded in 1973 by Elliott Mackey. Mike joined in 2001 and bought the business with his wife, Cari, in 2014. Your cellar question has a person’s name to put to it.
Wondering whether a cabinet would be enough, or where a full cellar could go? Tell Mike what you collect and what you have in mind. He can help you compare the options and identify the details to work through with your contractor.

You send the room
Dimensions if you have them, a phone photo if you do not. Ceiling height, wall construction and where the heat can escape tell us most of what we need.
We size it
Bottle count, a cooling load for the real room, and a racking layout that fits the wine you own. You get a budget range in writing, not a brochure.
Compare the details in person
Bring your plans to the Walnut Creek showroom to compare equipment. If the room needs a site review or further measurements, agree on who will handle them before design work proceeds.
You get a drawing and a number
A 3D design, an equipment list and a quote you can read. Then it is your call, on your timeline.

Do I need an appointment to visit?
Visit Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm. Saturdays are by appointment; call the showroom to arrange a time. We are closed Sunday.
How quickly will I hear back?
The showroom’s stated response window for live inquiries is 24 business hours. Call during store hours when you need to discuss a request directly. Forms on this beta site do not email the store.
Do you build the cellar, or only sell the parts?
Both, and you choose. We design the cellar, supply the racking, cooling and door, and coordinate the install with your contractor or one we refer, with a complete specification they can build from.
Do you work outside Walnut Creek?
Yes. Wine Hardware serves Bay Area cellar projects. Tell Mike your town and the work you have in mind to clarify the design, equipment and installation support available for your location before you make plans.
Can I buy a single cooling unit or one rack kit?
Yes. Bring Mike the model you are replacing or the rack kit you are considering. Room dimensions and a photo help him discuss fit, capacity and installation requirements before you order.
What should I bring to the showroom?
A photo of the space, rough dimensions, and a number for how many bottles you want to store in five years. That is enough to talk through a layout.
