What to know before you buy

  • Single zone stores, dual zone serves

    One temperature is what aging wants. Dual zone gives up capacity to hold whites at serving temperature. Decide which job the cabinet has.

  • Glass or solid door

    Glass shows the collection. Solid doors are the better cellar and the plainer furniture. Transtherm's Ermitage comes both ways.

  • Capacity is measured in Bordeaux

    Check which bottle shape, shelf arrangement and bulk-storage areas the stated capacity assumes. Wider bottles and larger formats can change the usable count.

  • It needs air and a floor that can take it

    Cabinets need clearance to breathe and weigh a great deal once loaded. We check clearances and the delivery path before we quote.
