What we build here
What a cellar in Napa could look like
A room designed around one standard bottle leaves awkward gaps for the rest of the collection. Bring representative bottle and case dimensions so each type of storage earns its place in the layout.
Separate the bottle formats
Compare individual racks with spaces for large bottles and cases. Count capacity against the collection, not by assuming every slot holds the same shape.
Plan access to stored cases
Leave room to pull a case and reach a bottle without unloading another section, and keep equipment service space out of the storage count.
Include commercial use
For a winery or tasting-room project, describe how stock moves, what needs to be on display and who needs access. Plan the cooling around that.

Four jobs, one showroom
We plan and supply the cellar. Mike sizes the storage and cooling, orders the equipment, and schedules the contractors he brings in for the build and installation.
Design and capacity
Rack elevations and a bottle count by format, so you know what the room holds before anything is ordered.
Racking
VintageView metal, Modularack pine, redwood and mahogany kits, and custom millwork when the room refuses to be rectangular.
Cooling
WhisperKOOL, Wine Guardian, CellarPro and CellarCool, sized against the room's heat load rather than its square footage.
Install coordination
Delivery, the install date and the contractors Mike brings in, coordinated from the showroom so the room is ready when the equipment is.

- We already have a cellar and it is not holding temperature. Can you look at it?
- Yes, and it is worth doing before you buy another unit. Send Mike the room dimensions, what is on the other side of each wall and which unit is in there now, undersized equipment and a leaky envelope look identical from inside.
- Do you supply tasting rooms and restaurants, not just houses?
- Yes. Commercial racking has to survive a service shift, and that changes the material and the fixing rather than only the layout. Tell Mike what the room does on a busy Saturday and start there.
- How long does a cellar in Napa take?
- It depends on design decisions, product availability and the schedule of the contractors Mike brings in. Tell Mike your plans and target date and he will walk through the next steps and current lead times.
- Do you come out to Napa to measure?
- Send whatever dimensions and photos you have to (925) 944-1084. Between you Mike will work out whether a site visit would help, who handles it and which drawings the project needs.
- What will it cost?
- It depends on room prep, racking, cooling and finishes. Send dimensions and a bottle count and Mike will talk through the scope and what he needs to put a project quote together.
- What if I already have a Napa general contractor or architect?
- Mike works alongside them when the cellar is part of a larger project. Bring the current plans while the construction details, equipment requirements and finishes can still move.
