What to know before you buy

  • Bottle count is a layout problem

Two walls the same size can hold very different counts depending on how the racking is laid out. Send the wall dimensions.

  • Label-forward or cork-out

Metal wine walls show the label and read as display. Individual wood racking stores more per square foot. Most cellars use both.

  • Depth decides the wall

VintageView racks come single, double or triple deep. Double deep doubles capacity and takes the room with it. Measure before you fall in love.

  • Assembly is honest work

Modularack and Designer Kits ship flat and go together with hand tools. Wine walls need studs found and levels used. We supply the layout drawing.

Create a consistent wood layout with Designer Kits in All Heart Redwood, Premium Redwood, Prime Mahogany or Rustic Pine. Three- and five-column individual-bottle modules sit alongside curved-corner choices, giving the room a repeatable pattern while you plan the junctions between walls. The named wood and module determine what you are selecting.

Share the cellar plan with Wine Hardware before combining kits. Confirm each module’s current dimensions, bottle fit and trim requirements; assembly is required and molding is separate. Ask our Walnut Creek team about delivery and project fit. Ask about fit at Wine Hardware.

Questions about shop designer kits for wine lovers

How many bottles will fit on my wall?
A 3-foot VintageView W Series section holds 9 bottles single deep, 18 double deep or 27 triple deep; the 4-foot sections hold 12, 24 or 36. Give us the wall width, height and whether magnums are involved and we will send back a layout with the exact count.
Wood or metal?
Metal wine walls are contemporary, label-forward and go up fast. Wood is warmer, stores more per square foot and hides an uneven wall better. Many of our cellars use metal on the display wall and wood on the bulk-storage wall.
Do racks need to be tilted?
No. Bottles need the cork wet, which horizontal storage does on its own. Tilt is a display choice, not a preservation one, and it costs you depth.
